On December 22 at 11:00 AM, a film workshop on The Last Temptation of Christ will be held under the direction of Research Assistant Zeynep Yazıcı. The workshop will take place in the Interpreting Language Laboratory. This workshop aims to develop the skills of aspiring translators in interpreting cultural, religious, and ethical contexts.

Adapted by Martin Scorsese, this film offers a rich field of study for translation, both in terms of theological debates and narrative structure. The workshop will include an interdisciplinary assessment of:

The theological background of the concepts in the film,

The interpretation of cultural and religious references,

The contextual transfer of dialogues,

Interdisciplinary evaluation of ethical sensitivity and representation issues in translation.

This work is an important example of the growing academic collaboration between the Faculty of Theology and the Department of Translation and Interpretation, offering our students the opportunity to benefit from the knowledge base of different disciplines.

All our students are invited.
