WHO ARE WE? (BUZEM)
The University that Blurs Borders
Bartın University Distance Education Application and Research Center, which brings together the Distance Education System, which eliminates borders and has the flexibility of learning speed, and the faculty members of Bartın University, was established on 05.07.2010 and started its activities. Bartın University Distance Education Application and Research Center (BUZEM) aims to offer an education program independent of time and space, prepared for young people who want to get higher education, employees who cannot find time to go to university due to their busy work schedule, those who care about their personal development and those who want to advance their career. In our center, distance education applications will be made in many different fields at associate, undergraduate and graduate level, especially the master's programs to be given within the scope of Bartın University Faculty of Forestry. In addition, certificate and specialization programs will be opened by taking into account the needs of employees in business life. BUZEM has a strong team consisting of instructional technologists, graphic and animation designers, programmers, measurement and evaluation experts and subject area experts. With its Learning Management System, Virtual Classroom Application and Internet Laboratories, BUZEM is about to be ready for education by rapidly completing its institutionalization by using today's most advanced technologies in terms of technical hardware and software infrastructure.
Independence of Time and Space in Education
The programs to be offered at BUZEM will be independent of time and space. Both faculty members and students will not be obliged to come to the university or any other designated location for training. Faculty members and students will not have to leave their own cities or places to attend classes. Everyone will be able to actively participate in the course with a portable computer with a wireless internet connection, no matter where they are in the world; on the road, on a trip, on vacation, on a business trip, in the field, on a mountainside, by the sea.
Opportunity to Teach with Rich and Interactive Tools
BUZEM's training programs will be conducted in a fully virtual environment, both synchronously (simultaneously) and asynchronously (separately). As in face-to-face classroom education, renowned academics and students will be able to come together in a virtual classroom, see and hear each other, ask questions, conduct experimental applications, analyze cases and brainstorm. In virtual classes, as in formal education, many educational tools such as whiteboards, powerpoint shows, videos, case studies, multimedia, animation and simulation will be used.

Nowadays, a high quality education is an elusive opportunity for anyone who wants it. The cost of leaving their villages, towns and cities to come to big cities and continue their education there has reached high levels and has become a burden that families with low and middle income cannot bear. No one will have to leave their current location to attend the training programs to be organized within BUZEM. Within the scope of BUZEM activities, renowned academicians from well-known universities in Turkey and around the world will be guests at the homes of students in the remotest corners of the country with rich and effective teaching tools and equal opportunity in education will be provided.
