Assoc. Prof. Hicran Karataş, a faculty member of our Sociology Department, shared her research with the international scientific community by attending the 11th Digital Public Health Conference (DPH 2026) in Barcelona, Spain. At the event, she presented her pioneering oral paper titled “Beyond Algorithms: A Qualitative Study on AI as a Relational Space for Organ Transplant Patients,” which qualitatively explores how organ transplant patients interact with generative AI technologies. This study is expected to make significant contributions to understanding the impact of digital health technologies on patient experience and patient-physician communication. Throughout the symposium, Assoc. Prof. Karataş held meetings to forge new academic collaborations for Horizon Europe projects and Erasmus agreements, actively supporting Bartın University's internationalization goals. Concluding her participation, she expressed her gratitude to TÜBİTAK and the university administration for their support in making her research possible.
