Kut al-Amara Victory Event Held
A conference on the Kut al-Amara Victory, which resulted in a major victory for the Turkish army on the Iraq Front on April 29, 1916, was held at our faculty.
Organized by the Department of History, the conference titled “The Kut al-Amara Victory on Its 110th Anniversary” focused on the political developments in the Ottoman Empire and Europe before the victory. The speaker also discussed the outbreak of the First World War, the Ottoman Empire’s entry into the war, and the development of the Iraq Front leading to the victory at Kut al-Amara.
During the event, the memory of the martyrs was honored with respect, and the conference emphasized that the Kut al-Amara Victory remains one of the unforgettable epic victories in history.
