Bartın University (BARÜ) has launched a Language Café program through a cooperation protocol signed between the Faculty of Literature and the School of Foreign Languages. The initiative aims to help students improve their English speaking skills in natural and interactive environments.

The protocol was signed by Prof. Aslı Yazıcı, Dean of the Faculty of Literature, and Asst. Prof. Özkan Avcı, Director of the School of Foreign Languages. The program seeks to increase active participation, interaction, and practice-based learning opportunities in the foreign language learning process.

Through Language Café activities, students will practice English in real communication settings. The program will involve students from the English preparatory classes of the School of Foreign Languages and students from the Faculty of Literature.

The sessions will be organized in small groups and will focus on topics such as culture, history, art, philosophy, sociology, psychology, literature, and daily life. Based on voluntary participation and encouragement, the program aims not only to improve students’ communication skills but also to support their social interaction, intercultural awareness, and self-confidence.
