Prof. Dr. Şahin Yıldırım from Bartın University Elected to the Archaeological Institute of America
Prof. Dr. Şahin Yıldırım, a faculty member at Bartın University, has been elected as a member of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA), one of the world’s oldest and most respected archaeology institutions. He is the sixth Turkish scholar to receive this honor in the institute’s 147-year history.
His membership was approved at the AIA council meeting held in San Francisco. This achievement is expected to increase the international visibility of Bartın University’s archaeological research.
Prof. Dr. Yıldırım conducts important studies in the Black Sea and Thrace regions, including excavations at Tios Ancient City and other archaeological field projects. University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya congratulated him and emphasized that this membership is a significant academic success for the university.
